Alex Haymes
Director and FacilitatorBubbly, creative, and just the right amount of bonkers, Alex is one of our directors and facilitators at Play About Theatre. She is all about connecting with our young people and empowering them to explore the bizarre and high-energy side of their creativity through play.
‘I joined a youth theatre group when I was about 9 years old as I found it really challenging to speak up in school and feel confident. It had a huge impact on me and really improved my social skills and self esteem. Getting to be a part of a CIC like Play About Theatre is something that I find really exciting and heartwarming.’
Anthony Thilwind
Director, Facilitator, Safeguarding LeadSupportive, passionate, and full of ideas, Anthony is the other half of Play About Theatre. A director and facilitator, as well as our safeguarding lead, Anthony loves working with our young people to create stories and explore all aspects of a performance, beyond what happens on the stage.
‘I’m really living the dream as a director and facilitator for Play About Theatre. I love that I get to help young people find their creative voice and realise their potential through their creativity. I hope our young people feel seen, heard, and inspired.’
Together, Alex and Anthony work to create a safe space for the young people involved with Play About Theatre to explore theatre through a range of lenses, consistently championing confidence, friendship, and creativity. From workshops to rehearsal sessions, Play About Theatre is built on collaboration and co-creation, meaning everyone’s voice is important, and everyone’s voice is supported and heard.
